At the end of 2004, she became Head of European Firm Relationship Management, responsible for ensuring that all of Morgan Stanley’s divisions work together to best serve the Firm’s clients.  She was appointed Chief Operating Officer for Europe in October 2006.  Reporting to the Chairman of Morgan Stanley International, she was responsible for the development and implementation of the Firm’s business strategy in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and chaired its European Diversity Council.  She was a member of Morgan Stanley’s European Management Committee, and a Board Member of the Firm’s FSA-regulated UK broker dealer.

Following her successful investment banking career, May is now focused on bringing her insights and experiences to help people in the pursuit of their dreams, particularly young people and women, and to promote greater diversity and entrepreneurial spirit in the workplace.  She is currently writing a non-fiction book with her advice for women who are in or contemplating serious professional careers: what to expect at various stages in their careers, what it takes to succeed, and how to balance that with personal life.  Her other projects include chairing her local residents’ association, writing non-fiction articles, public speaking, and helping young people to aspire and to make informed career choices.

May is a British and American citizen.  She has a BA degree magna cum laude in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.  She is married with three children.
